Eggless Dates Cookies

Eggless Dates Cookies





50 gm wheat flour
100 gm maida
75gm powder sugar
75gm butter
50gm chopped dates
½ tsp baking powder

For Topping:
2 1/2 tbsp milk
3 tsp Khus khus/Poppy seeds


1.In a bowl, add butter and sugar. Beat until creamy and smooth.
2.In another bowl mix maida, wheat flour and baking powder.
3.Add dates in butter mixture and mix well.
4.Add flour and mix well.
5.Add milk if necessary and make a dough.
6.Roll out each portion into a circle of 1/8 thickness.
7.Cut into squares with a cutter.
8.Place on baking tray.
9.Brush the top of cookies with milk and sprinkle khus khus on top.
10.Preheat oven to 160 C.
11.Bake the cookies for 15-18 mins or until golden.
12.Remove from oven and place the cookies on wire rack.
13.They will be soft when hot but will crunchy and crispy when cooled down.
14.Serve with tea or coffee.

                                                                cool on wire rack
